Middle school teacher arrested for possession of child pornography.

June 5, 20087 - Lief Albaugh, 27, a band instructor at Foshay Learning Center, was arrested on one count of child possession. Investigators found pornographic images of young girls and boys on his personal laptop.

A former dean of students at Forsay has been accused of covering up in a case in which a former assistant principal had a sexual relationship with a student there.

[T]he Foshay dean, who was identified by authorities in court as "Mr. Hubbard," kept photos, notes and a scrapbook that documented the relationship between Rooney and a former Foshay student. Among the materials, presented by prosecutors in court last month, were photos showing Rooney and the underage girl kissing.

Despite that and without investigation, the assistant principal, Steven Thomas Rooney, was transferred to Markham Middle School, and he has been charged with molesting two students there.

ARRAIGNMENT June 27 - Albaugh pleaded not guilty yesterday (June 26) to a felony charge that he possessed child pornography on a school-owned laptop. He is scheduled to be arraigned July 9 on a second felony count of possession of child porn.

Officers allegedly discovered thousands of images of young boys and girls engaged in sexual conduct on both his LAUSD-issued computer and his home computer, according to the District Attorney's Office.
