McHenry, ILLINOIS

March 12, 2008 - Laura Sieradzki, 34, was sentenced to to two years of probation and ordered to pay $5,300 in fines and fees after she pleaded guilty to having sex with a 17-year-old boy. The sentence of 180 days in jail was suspended if she complies with the conditions of her probation. She must register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

She pleaded guilty to criminal sexual abuse at a hearing before Judge Sharon Prather in McHenry County Circuit Court. Charges of sexual assault of a minor and providing liquor to minors were dropped in exchange for the guilty pleas.

Sieradzki was a special-education teacher at McHenry High School's West Campus. She lost her license to teach for 50 years.
