Dec 13, 2007 - Suzette Harich, a teacher at Hayes Middle School, was arrested after she was pulled over for speeding when the officer noticed her eyes were red her speech was slurred and alcohol on her breath.
She told the officer she had also taken loratab- that's a prescription pain killer.
She was arrested on Friday, but she's at school this week.
Dec 14 - Harich plans to sue the Sheriff's department. She claims she was physically and verbally abused.
According to the criminal complaint: Harich was originally pulled over for speeding but then the officer noticed- her speech was slurred - and alcohol was on her breath. The report did show she was under the legal limit and she believes she was falsely arrested.WSAZ: The compaint states that Harich failed 3 field sobriety tests, but passed a PBT (breathalyzer) with a .06 blood-alcohol content. He also stated that he observed an open beer behind the driver's seat.
In the complaint it said she told the officer she'd taken a Loratab, a prescription pain pill.
Thursday night Harich wanted to make it clear she was not drinking on the job.
She says she had one drink after school -- on a day when there were no students in the classroom. Harich is facing DUI and speeding charges.
