Nov 26, 2007 - Rachel Von Hagen, 32, an eighth grade science teacher at Westglades Middle School, was arrested after illegal drugs were found in her purse at a Coral Springs spa.

Police were called to the spa after a massage therapist noticed Von Hagen had put hair products she hadn't purchased into her handbag. When police arrived, Van Hagen told them that her nails weren't dry and to retrieve the products from her handbag.

But when police went into the bag to fetch the hair products they found, "floating around in her sunglass case," four blue pills they identified as the narcotic painkiller Oxycodone, 11 grams of marijuana and a pipe, the report said. The spa did not wish to prosecute for the unpaid concealed hair care products.

Police, however, arrested Von Hagen on charges of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and misdemeanor marijuana and drug paraphernalia offenses.
