Jim Thorpe, PENNSLVANIA

Nov 14, 2007 -David McAndrew Sr., 53, of Summit Hill, a teacher at L.B. Morris Elementary School, retired on Monday, promising to never again teach young children in Pennsylvania.

McAndrew agreed to retire after an elementary student saw a sexual image on his computer. The student who saw the images is in fourth or fifth grade. The retirement agreement was signed on the advice of school district solicitor. Under the agreement, which also was signed by teachers union lawyer Martin Herring, McAndrew may be entitled to pay for unused sick, personal and vacation days.

McAndrew was acquitted in 2001 of lewd conduct at the Catholic school. The school principal told police she spotted McAndrew with his hand down the front of his pants and part of his underwear and buttocks exposed in a classroom in front of four first-grade students.

Six years later and he was still teaching?
