June 26, 2007 - Timothy Zisa, 35, described as "a once-popular Wayne teacher," pleaded to three counts of cruelty and neglect to a child. He is expected to be sentenced up to five years' probation.
Zisa admitted that he engaged three students in obscene conversations, passionately kissed two of them while they were underage and had sex with two after they turned 18. (See "Details" story.)
Zisa agreed to forfeit his teaching license and never to take a public job in the state. He had been a history teacher and coach at Wayne Hills High School.
Zisa, who was suspended immediately after his arrest, had won considerable acclaim at the high school and was called "The Chillest Teacher Ever" and "very nice to look at" on a popular teacher-rating Web site.He is scheduled to be sentenced August 10.

SENTENCED: August 9, 2007 - Zisa was sentenced to five years probation and barred for life from teaching in the state for sexual encounters he had with three former students. Zisa was also ordered to complete 125 hours of community service and undergo psychological counseling. He is also barred from holding any public employment in the state.
