Apr 28, 2007 - Hunter Hinson, former Cushing and Wells ISD teacher, was indicted on April 13th for sexual assault of a child, stemming from a relationship he allegedly had with a Cushing High School student about two years ago.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department began investigating the relationship about two years ago, Sheriff Thomas Kerss said, but the investigation stalled, and Hinson resigned from Cushing ISD. He later began working at Wells ISD, which launched an internal investigation and gathered enough information to fire Hinson.TT - no additional information or explanation for the two-year delay.
Kerss said the current allegations involve a single female student who would have been in the 15- to 16-year-old age bracket at the time of the alleged incident.
