Cleveland, OHIO

NBC's WKYC: " Love was her defense."
For sex with a 12-year old? Makes you want to head slap the reporter.
(Or take away her Harlequin Romance novels.)

News story date April 11, 2007 - A grade school principal at Case Elementary School who was convicted and served nearly 12 years in prison for having sex with a 12-year-old boy will be paroled next month. But it won't be the end of it.

A judge has ruled that Dr. Nancy Marks will be labeled a sexual predator.

Investigators said Marks paid several people thousands of dollars to keep quiet about the relationship, including the 12-year-old victim's mother, Robbie Robinson, who is now serving at least 43 years for extortion.

Prosecutors said Marks' pattern of abuse, power, lust and secrecy makes her a sexual predator and in the end, the judge agreed.

As a sexual predator, Marks will be required to register her address every 90 days with the sheriff's department for the rest of her life.

Nancy Marks will now be released from prison. With no residence and no loved ones to take her in, she'll have to stay at a halfway house. From there, she says she hopes to start her life over and hopefully start over her relationship with her former student.

"I feel love for him." Along with her enduring love, Mark's sentence will last the rest of her life. The state will require the former principal to register as a sexual predator, checking in with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Dpartment every 90 days.
TT - Is this movie-of-the-week reporting or what? Marks had sex with the boy and two of his underage friends. She also supplied weapons to the boys and drugs.. Marks is 63-years-old. The boy is now 25 and in jail on drug charges.
