Third San Gabriel Valley teacher arrested for sexual misconduct.

Feb 28, 2007 Andrew Barnes, 25, a at South Hills High School in West Covina, was arrested on suspicion of molesting six female students.

Barnes has been on administrative leave since December when an investigation began. A judge ordered an arrest warrant on Monday. He was released on bond on Tuesday. Arraignment is scheduled for Mar 7.

Feb 8 - Barnes pleaded not guilty Wednesday to multiple counts of child molestation. His next court appearance will be Mar 21.

Apr 30 - (Tip from reader) Barnes pleaded guilty last Friday to one felony count of using a minor for a prohibited act and two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure. The felony charge involved using a minor in a photograph, while the misdemeanor charges involved "photos that were found on his computer."

Barnes was sentenced to a two-year state prison term and ordered to register as a sex offender.
